Development on Daniel Island initially started back in 1996. Since that time, this planned community has been shaped into an easygoing and upscale town. Seeking an approachable restaurant with fantastic drinks and expansive outdoor seating? New Realm Brewing Co. is quickly becoming a neighborhood favorite for its menu items and ambiance. Nearby, you can also treat yourself to a great dining experience at Ristorante LIDI, Viva Tacos & Tequila, Sermet's Courtyard, and Vespa Pizzeria. Recently, The Kingstide — which features stunning waterfront views and a rooftop — has become a new favorite.

The main event venue in town is the Credit One Stadium. Recently renovated and renamed, this tennis stadium hosts tennis pros from around the world every year. It also hosts concerts from major bands and performers. Governor's Park, which is next to the stadium, is the site of numerous events throughout the year. It is also a great place to exercise, and to take your pup (there is an on-site dog park).
 
Daniel Island was designed to have parks at nearly every turn. Walk to scenic outdoor spaces such as Smythe Park, Bounty Park, Barfield Park, Codner's Ferry Park, and Etiwan Park.
